![]() Pacific Islands Polynesian Education Foundation promotes and encourages the better education of Polynesians and provides financial assistance for Polynesian people undertaking tertiary study here in New Zealand.
The Act is administered for the Ministry of Education. The Application forms are now available to download. Fully completed applications to be received by our office no later than 31st March 2010.
Programme A - Individual ScholarshipsEach year the Board awards a number of small scholarships to applicants from the Cook Islands (10), Fiji (6), Niue (5), Samoa (28), Tokelau (3), Tonga (16) (excluding New Zealand Maori).
$28,500.00 is available annually for the above scholarships. Offered for the first time in 2009 the foundation is offering a $2,000 scholarship annually to Post Graduate students studying to benefit the Polynesian peoples. Click here for application form Applicants must provide proof of NZ residency or citizenship, Pacific Island descent, and proof that they are enrolled and have paid their fees. Each year a number of scholarships are not paid out because recipients fail to supply all the required documentation. Applications are now being accepted for the 2010 scholarship. Programme B - $ for $ ScholarshipsThe Board distributes funds to participating tertiary institutions who select their recipients using criteria determined by PIPEF.
Participating institutions must match the funds dollar for dollar and
$46,500.00 is currently available annually.
